Carl Sinclair on piano and Howard Smith on drums have become firm favourites with our audiences over the last few years and were with us on October 25th, this time joined by Carl's dad, Kenny, on guitar and vocals.

Entertainment and superb piano playing guaranteed!

This was a brilliant opening session at our new venue

Singer, guitar player and raconteur extra-ordinaire Bev Pegg bringbrought in his Railroad Skiffle Group which also featured Peter Hartley on violin and mandolin and Ray Parry on bass for a session of music and laughter.       

 

                                                                                     

 

 

 

 

Mark Challinor's Jazz Four feature Mark on banjo and guitar, Mike Hayler on sax and clarinet, Pete Ainge on trumpet and Richard Vernon on bass.

Apex Jazz & Swing Band, led by Robin Mason on sax and clarinet were be ur first band of the New Year on January 17th.

With Robin was Jon Stone on trumpet,

Ron Hills on trombone,  Bob Boucher on bass Peter Robinson on guitar/banjo and Martin Emeny on drums.

Here on February 14th:

Led by Peter Roberts on banjo the line up of Dene River Jazzmen was Chris Carmell on cornet, Dave Braidley on trombone, Rod Williams on clarinet/sax, Keith Prescott on bass and Perc Cotterill on drums.

Big Eric Dodgson brought in his Old Comrades Jazz Band on February 21st.

This session also featured his grand-daughter, Alice Beavan, with her Bessie Smith inspired vocals.

On March 13th. we had the very welcome return of London based

Bob Dwyer's Bix and Pieces.

The line-up was Bob on trombone,

 

Max Emmons...trumpet,    Bernie Holden...clt/sax

 

John Bayn...bass sax/double bass

 

Graham Caldicott...drums      Nathan Price...banjo

 

and special guest Malcolm Hogarth...piano
